>Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
> This is the photo we chose for our Christmas Card this year. We went with a Postcard
mailing. It is so easy! Import your addresses, upload a photo, type in a greeting and voila! They create and mail your postcard. We get one sent to ourselves so that we can have it as a keepsake.
Happy Holidays to you!
>A Sagis sketch has made an appearance on some items at CafePress. Check it out These pictures show up better on the cafe press website…

>Sagis on the scanner
>I left the scanner open and Sagis decided it was the perfect place to do a quick belly wash. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to scan him in! Yes, the moving parts freaked him out (probably not good for his eyes to look in to the light) and he ended up jumping down before the scan completed..I like the crazy nature of this image: look at those cute little paws!
>Stupid Sock Creatures!
>I had intended to spend Saturday sketching a lot. However, I went out for brunch and then ran some errands. I dropped stuff off for donations and then browsed at Bookmans where I found a nice (old) hardcover book to start sketching in and a few other odds and ends; Value Village (a thrift store) where I found just what I was after: a bag of buttons and some photo frames; then on to Antigone where I found a new Moleskine sketchbook (which I use for a journal). I went home and used some of the socks I rescued from my donation bag and decided to try making a stupid sock creature. Before finishing the first one, However, I had to get some polyester fill. I thought Target might have some, but did end up having to go to Michael’s -where I also found some more micron pens, notecards on sale, knitting needles (cause I want to learn), a thimble (I didn’t have one) and some more buttons. I almost bought one of those tomato pin cushions cause it’s just like the one my mom has and I used to play with it as a kid.
anyhoo…on to the pics of my sock creatures!!! Here are the finished creatures with the Instruction Manual *:

Meet Rayas (stripes in spanish). He is my second creature. I was so excited to have Sweetwater that I wanted to make her a friend, so I stayed up making this guy. He’s Wronky in the book, but listening to Mana while crafting him made me name him Rayas. I decided not to stuff his ears and make them dangly instead… You can’t see his body in this pic, but if you scroll down you’ll see a full body shot. I don’t care for his LOooooooooong body…if I did him over again (which I couldn’t, cause they’re all so unique) I’d have made his legs longer than they are. Oh well…I like him anyway!

>New Posts…finally!
>A dad and his little girl at the Tucson Meet Yourself Festival last weekend. (Their faces are wonky, but oh well.)
A house on 12th street. A lunch time sketch Syrup at the Silver Lining Cafe…sunday morning breakfast out before hiking at Agua Caliente park (where I did no sketching)
SAGIS!!! He’s back!!! He looks a bit disheveled in this sketch…. You’ll be pleased, I’m sure, to hear that I think Sagis is on the mend. I believe Sagis had a little infection due to a cat fight (he’s a fighter, much to our peace loving chagrin) and now the swelling has turned to draining. Granted, the draining process is gross, but Sagis seems to only mind me trying to treat his wound. Here is the regal king now…. I like this sketch i did of him….He’s such a cutie pie. Even when he’s fighting me from putting healing Vitamin E on his wound, or wiping it clean with a warm washcloth…
