While in the Peace Corps, I had a black cat named Ella. She had a favorite spot on the windowsill, looking out to the ‘ruins’ (an unfinished concrete structure) where the big iguanas would hang out, sunning themselves. She also got views of chickens rummaging for food under the house and in the yard. And then there were ‘goosies’–the twin white geese that patrolled the yard and took their jobs seriously. Those cats knew better than to mess with goosie!
